RAPID CITY- RAPID CITY- Mary Wheeler (Reiss) Klauck, 82, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. Mary Wheeler (Reiss) Klauck was born April 12, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ruth Wheeler Reiss and John Peter Reiss. Mary was raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; the oldest of five children. Mary graduated from Sheboygan's Central High School in 1951. She attended Barry College in Miami, FL and the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. On November 28, 1953 Mary wed Jack Thomas Klauck in Sheboygan, and they made their home in Littleton, Colorado. While in Colorado, Jack received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver and six of their seven children were born. Mary and Jack moved to Rapid City in 1966, raised their seven children, and embraced life in South Dakota. On November 28, 2012 Mary and Jack celebrated 59 years of marriage. Mary was a devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Mary's Catholic faith was the center of her life. Known for her friendly smiles and greetings, Mary shared these gifts with everyone she met. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents and her brother John Peter Reiss. Mary is survived by her seven children, John (Charis) Klauck, San Antonio, TX; Mary (Dan) Rule, Green Valley, AZ; Peter (Patty) Klauck, Broomfield, CO; Reverend Michael Klauck, Grant, AL; Tim (Kay) Klauck Grapevine, TX; Martha "Marty" (Duke) Paluch, Superior, CO, and Joan (Karl) Adam, Pierre, SD; eighteen grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Kreitz, Julie (Ed) Stapanon, and Jill (Mike) Pierce; Eric Rogers and Jeff (Jen) Rogers; Peter, Jake and Annie Klauck; Mary, Therese and Catherine Klauck; Matt and Thomas Paluch, and Katherine, Conrad, Jack, Phillip and Paul Adam; four great-grandchildren, John and William Kreitz, Joseph Stapanon, and Jack Pierce. Mary is also survived by a brother and two sisters: Peter W. Reiss, Ruth Kosednar and Cathie McDonagh, all of Scottsdale, AZ. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Christian Wake Service with a rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Rev. Michel Mulloy presiding. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
