Mary Pond passed away at her home June 14, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. Her husband Wallace Bud Pond, daughter Deb Erickson (Reno, NV) and son Jay Pond (Minneapolis, MN) were at her side. Mary was born November 30, 1931 in Rapid City to Nellie and Charles Clinton of Hill City. She was a member of St. Therese parish. Mary was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Elks Ladies Golf Association of Rapid City. She was also a Childrens Advocate for the Black Hills Childrens Home. In addition to her husband and children Mary is survived by one grandson, Justin Erickson, Durango CO. brother Joe Clinton and his wife Norma, Hill City SD, brother Jerry Clinton and his wife Gerry, Rapid City, sister Pat Gordley and her husband Otis, Ft. Morgan CO, sister-in-law Betty Ferguson and her husband Newt, Oceanside CA. as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many loving friends. Mary was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend and each of the people she touched in those roles will always remember her as a special part of their lives. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm, Monday, June 16, 2008 with a Christian Wake Service at 7 pm, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am Tuesday at the Church of St Therese, The Little Flower, with Rev. Bill Zandri presiding. Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Donations may be made in Marys name to the Black Hills Childrens Home, 24100 S. Rockerville Rd. Rapid City, SD 57702
