Obituary

Rapid City - At the tender age of 27, Mason Mudlin left our world to be with his grandmother in heaven. He lived life determined to beat the odds, but on October 28, he lost his battle. He will be remembered as a handsome, brave, generous and loving young man whose smile was beautiful and his sense of humor, contagious. He never allowed his ill health to conquer his spirit. Mason enjoyed playing with his niece and nephews and had a passion for playing cards, fishing, hiking, going to auctions, dreaming and taking trips with his Dad. He loved soccer and was a big fan of the Denver Broncos. Mason and his family will always have the memory of the big marlin he caught on the trip that was gifted to them to Hawaii by the Make A Wish Foundation. He is survived by his courageous and tireless, loving and devoted parents, Sheila and Bob Mudlin, brother Mitch Mudlin, (Holly) sister Melanie Barclay (Brad), brothers Martin, Matt, and Mac Mudlin, grandparents Mick and Darlene Mudlin, and Raymond Anderson, two nephews, Tyce and Grady Barclay, and niece, Kelsey Barclay, and his honorary brother, Brian Demaro and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to his loving and caring medical team, especially Dr. David Evans who extended Masons life and his infusion care Moms who were responsible for greatly improving his quality of life. And not to be forgotten, all the hundreds of health care professionals that helped him for 14 years. In the end, Masons ongoing generosity and last wish was fulfilled and the gift of life was granted to many waiting recipients through the Life Source organ donor program. A memorial has been established and donations can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in his name. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. A celebration of Masons life will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 1, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard and Rev. Kirstin Kellaher officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Mason, we are all very blessed to have known you and you will be deeply and profoundly missed. Your memory lives on in our hearts.
