IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew "Buffy"
H. Martin
March 5, 1967 – October 13, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Matthew Hughlen Martin ("Buffy"), who left us too soon at the age of 58.
Buffy was born on March 5 in Minneapolis. He was a devoted brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to all who knew him - remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and his ability to light up any room he entered. A true jack of all trades, Buffy spent his life working with his hands and heart - whether as a mechanic, builder, or helper to anyone in need. He loved collecting and restoring International tractors, bailing hay for Mom and the neighbors, fixing anything that needed fixing, and caring for his animals (especially Duke). He also loved singing and playing guitar, camping, kayaking, and scuba diving, embracing every chance to enjoy the great outdoors.
Buffy never turned his back on anyone in need. He was quick to lend a hand, share his faith, and pray before every meal. He always ended each conversation with "Bye, I love you" - something Mama taught us, reminding us that you never know when it's your last goodbye . He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Buffy is survived by his loving mother, Sandi Martin; his son, Nathan Martin; his sisters, Gina and Naomi (and brothers by choice, Greg and Bob); his granddaughters, Savanna and Madyson; and his niece and nephews, McKayli Grace, Brennon and Calvin.
