Matthew Mudlin, 24, a brave and valiant young man was lifted up to heaven to live in eternity on February 3, 2012. He is rejoicing now with the angels, his brother, Mason and grandmother, Lois. Matt was born December 14, 1987, in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was very bright and shy and had a passion and talent for skateboarding and soccer. He also enjoyed time just hanging out with his brothers and many friends. Although he had many battles with his health, he would always beat the odds, especially upon learning the cancer he had fought for years was in remission. It was then, he started looking forward to a bright new future and living a life of independence. Matt will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts and on our minds. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, tender heart, caring attitude and creative mind. Matt is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lois and his brother Mason. He is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Sheila Mudlin, his brothers Mitch Mudlin (Holly), Martin Mudlin, and Mackenzie Mudlin, his sister Melanie Barclay (Brad), along with a niece, Kelsey and nephews, Tyce and Grady Barclay, grandparents, Ray Anderson, and Mick and Darlene Mudlin, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Youre in the arms of the angels may you find some comfort there. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Matts name for the Make a Wish Foundation in gratitude of their generosity of giving the family very cherished memories.
