Maxine (Mickey) Boekhout, 81, of Rapid City, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 17, at Clarkson Mt. View Health Care Facility. She was born November 20, 1933 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lorenzo and Alma Bettelyoun, and was the oldest of nine children. On November 1, 1950 she married the love of her life, Cornelius (Corney) Boekhout. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage and had eight beautiful children. She took great joy in caring for her family and others. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to cook and there was always an abundance of food at the Boekhout home for celebrations! She and Corney treasured their family and friends and were delighted at the prospect of company. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her husband, Corney Boekhout, children, Yvonne (Dan) McCann, Deborah (Frank) Cortese, Janice (Joel) Hrachovec, Tammy (Kem) Houdek, Thomas Boekhout, Kathy (Paul) Molnar, Karen (Tim) Nietz, Tricia (Pat) Gainey; Three sisters and two brothers, Wanda Wilson, Lila Harrington, Robin Madsen, Jr. (Shawnna) Bettelyoun, Mike (Terri) Wagner; 21 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Bettelyoun and Gerald (Buzz) Bettelyoun, and a sister, Pauline Harrington. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev David Lindenberg officiating. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
