May Louise Le Beau, 96, of Rapid City, was born to Robert and Andel (Landreaux) Lawrence near Promise, SD, on May 1, 1922. She grew upon her parents' ranch, attended several boarding schools, and graduated high school from St. Francis. After high school she went to Spokane, WA and worked during WW II. She also worked at the Rapid City Hospital in the middle 40's. May returned home to the Promise area and married Freddie Le Beau in 1946. They had six children and ranched near the Mobridge area. She moved to Rapid City in 1971 and his lived here since.
She is survived by her two girls, Luann (Jerry) Schock, of Rapid City and Jane Stutz, of Woodbridge, VA; 8 grandchildren, Shawn Lamb, of Timber Lake, Michelle Le Beau, of Las Cruces, NM, Lorrie Sullivan, of Rapid City, Tyrone Schock, of Colorado Springs, CO, Todd Schock, of Abilene, TX, and John Stutz, Valentine Stutz and Anita Stugz, all of Woodbridge, VA; 15 great grandchildren, Jakeb Sullivan, Savannah Sullivan, Skylar Sullivan, Jedidiah Sullivan, JonPaul Sullivan, Alexa Norris, Gabrielle Norris, Tyus Norris, Quinn Norris, Kritter Lamb, Delbert Lamb, Tyra Schock, Alex Church, Sawyer Schock and Laynie James and 2 great great grandchildren, Payton Lamb and Apollo Norris.
She was preceded in death by her 3 boys, Tyron, Todd and Jeffrey; a daughter, Anita; her parents, 2 brothers, Robert and Clarence Lawrence, 3 sisters, Evelyn Gunville, Marie Lawrence and Juanita Rifle; sisters in law, Delphine Lawrence and Charlotte Lawrence; brothers in law, Frank Traversie, Joe Gunville, Ralph Warren and Orvin Lee and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Rosary Service at 7:00 on Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Rev. Father Brian Christensen as celebrant.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the church.
Burial will be held approximately 11:30 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
