Rapid City – Merle Stillman, 84, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center.

Merle Edward Stillman was born March 9, 1938 in Rapid City to Clifford and Esther [Barber] Stillman. He grew to adulthood in Rapid City. He entered the United States Navy January of 1959 and was honorably discharged in January of 1963. He married Mary Ann Troise Charest on April 16, 1982 in Rapid City. Merle was employed as produce manager for several area grocery stores in the Black Hills region.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Ann Stillman of Rapid City; daughter: Tonia Vahlberg of Rapid City; one step daughters: Diana Sue Barnett of Olive Branch, Miss; two step sons: Richard Charest of Rapid City and Ronald Charest of Oceanside, CA; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Linda Charest.
