Michael Charles Downes was born into this world on June 3, 1956 in Highland Park, Michigan.  Michael left this world to join the Lord on June 4, 2024 at the age of 68.

Michael was dearly loved by his father, Dennis Downes, mother Vera (Hawman) Downes, and sister Denise (Patrick) Dowling.  Michael was the father of two sons, Bradley Downes and Timothy Downes, grandfather to six grandchildren, and great-grandfather to one great- granddaughter. Michael was preceded in death by his mother and one grandson.

Mike took pride in his skills as a self-taught mechanic.  He worked hard through his life and at one time owned his own garage, Mike's Repair.  He had a passion for fixing cars and working with his hands and was always willing to help his family and friends.

Mike loved to spend time outdoors enjoying camping, fishing, four wheeling, and family picnics.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed quiet days at home with his son, friends like Tim, and his beloved dog Zeus who was always by his side.

Michael had a genuine love of family and friends.  He was a kind, quiet soul and his gentle spirit and generous heart will always remain in our memories.
