GILLETTE--Michael Lowe, 50, Gillette, died at Campbell County Hospital in Gillette on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was born on April 21, 1958 in Milbank to James L. and Verda J. (Clausen) Lowe. The family moved to Rapid City in 1961 and he grew up in Rapid City. After high school, he began working in the oil fields of Wyoming with Shelby Drilling in 1980. He spent about 20 years in the oil fields and for the past 10 years, has worked the methane rigs, most recently with NUCOR, Inc. He liked woodworking and could fix or build almost anything from anything. Everybody who knew him liked him; he like to work hard and do the job right and also play hard. Survivors include his life partner, Pat Conklin, Gillette; his parents, James L. and Verda Lowe, Rapid City, SD; 2 brothers, Douglas (Pam) Lowe, Black Hawk, SD and Robert Lowe, Piedmont, SD; a niece, Amber (Brandon Foster) and their children, Hailey, Ashley and Elizabeth, all of Black Hawk; a nephew, Jeremy (Danny) Lowe, and their children, Paige and Jacob, all of Black Hawk; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; Pats daughters, Tammy Rae Conklin, Rapid City and Rhonda Conklin and Robin Lehman, both of Gillette; Pats grandchildren, Mason Lehman, Gillette, David Conklin, Rapid City and Tania Conklin, Lusk and Tanias son, Donavon Geoffrey, Gillette and Pats mother, Winifred Claunch, Rapid City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie James, maternal grandparents, Robert and Margret Clausen and paternal grandparents, J. B. and Viona Lowe. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City with Pastor Herb Cleveland officiating.
