Michael D. Sawyer, 69, of Deerfield, died Monday, August 27, 2018 as the result of an accident.

Michael was born May 9, 1949 at Deerfield, SD to Thomas and Sherrill Sawyer.

He attended country school through the 8th grade then onto Hill City High School. After graduation, Mike was drafted into the U. S. Army, serving in Viet Nam from 1969 through 1970 and honorably discharged with several medals.

Mike drove over the road Semi for many years quitting the "rat race" for a better life, "punchin' cows" and doing things he enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim, his mother Sherrill and father, Thomas Dayle.

He was blessed by his many close friends.

According to Mike's specific desires, he asked to be cremated and that there be no funeral service or a headstone.
