Michael chose to be cremated, and the family will honor him with a private celebration of life.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Eugene F. Nooner and Patricia R. Johnson.

He is survived by one son, Spencer Michael Scott, Rocklin, CA, two grandchildren, Kyliegh and Daxxton, Rocklin, CA, two sisters, Nicolette R. Nutt, Tribune, Kansas, and Kelly J Marker, Rapid City, South Dakota, two nephews, Alex and CJ, and one niece, Anna.

Michael was born in Santa Monica, California, on April 15, 1955, to Patricia Ruth (Johnson) Nooner and Eugene F Nooner. Soon after he was born, Michael moved with his sister, Nicolette, and his mother, to Rapid City, SD. He and Nicolette accrued many great childhood memories on the ranch owned by their grandparents, Carl T. and Ruth G. Johnson.

In 1965, his mom remarried, and the family moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Michael graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School, and his adventures began! Variety was important to Michael. He worked many different jobs throughout his years, including construction, oil rigs, chef, sales, cowboy, and mortgage banking. He lived in Lincoln, NE, Arlington, VA, Houma, LA, San Jose, CA, and Loveland, CO. California was his home for most of his adult life.

Michael married Lori G Meacham in 1987 and became the kind and loving father to Lori's daughter, Breanna, who he adoringly called "Shorty." Lori and Michael had one son, Spencer Michael. Time with his son often included something outdoors - fishing, camping, and motorcycle riding. He also delighted coaching Spencer's Little League baseball team, several flag football teams, plus took Spencer to the first of many Archery lessons. Michael instilled an undying love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles in Spencer, fulfilling Spencer's childhood dream to ride with his father, which they did in the Black Hills in 2012 and 2015.

Michael came back to Rapid City, SD, in 2005 to live out his life on the family ranch – one of many passions. He delighted in managing the land, improving the house and outbuildings, and walking along the creek and in the pastures.

His outdoor interests were camping, fishing, hiking, baseball, rodeoing, and riding motorcycles. He played semi-pro softball, and at the age of 43, he attended a bull riding school. In his later years, he joined the Jack Pine Gypsies and was involved with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Races.

Michael would light up the room when he walked in. He was very handsome and an easy conversationalist, never forgetting a face and always quick with a joke. He certainly lived with the belief that,

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" – Hunter S. Thompson

Raise a glass in a toast to Michael! It was a ride!  You are loved and will be greatly missed!
