Michael J. Welch, 63 years, formerly of Raynham, MA before moving to Rapid City, South Dakota in November of 2016, died in an accident on Monday, May 7, 2018.

He grew up in Raynham and graduated from Coyle & Cassidy High School.  Before retiring, he was a crane operator; and until his death, a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4.

He is survived by his wife, Debra, and daughter, Colleen, both of Rapid City, SD, brother and sister-in-law Francis and Carol Welch of Dighton, MA, sister-in-law Lorraine Gray of Bordentown, NJ, niece Rosemarie (Welch) Burrell and her husband Peter of Taunton, MA, nephew Francis M. Welch of Raynham, MA, nephew Todd Welch and his wife Kim of Dighton, MA, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Welch, Jr., parents Francis and Theresa (Arsenault) Welch, and uncle Armand C. Arsenault.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's name made be made to the Irish Wolfhound Foundation, David Milne, Treasurer, 150 Creek Rd., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:00 am with a service at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd., Rapid City, SD.
