Michael Mike R. Goodrich, 56, Rapid City, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born April 24, 1952 in Medford Oregon. After graduating from Rapid City Central High School in 1971, Mike entered the U. S. Army, serving in Germany. He married Betty Hamm on April 3, 1996, in Rapid City. In 2003, Mike graduated from Western Dakota Vocational Technical School with a degree in Computer Science. He was a long time employee of Diamond D Pressure Washing, traveling around the state. Mike was a member of American Legion Post 22 and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include two brothers; Robert Goodrich and his wife Starla and Dick Goodrich, all of Rapid City, a niece, 4 nephews, 4 great nieces and a great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ray and Grace and his wife, Betty. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at St Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Fr. David Matzko, S.J. presiding. Interment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis under the direction of Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
