RAPID CITYMilton Sills passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Fountain Springs Health Care at the age of 87. He was born on September 21, 1920, to Claud and Helen (Klosterman) Sills in the Wood and Carter area. He married Alma Rowe at Valentine, NE, on July 21, 1942. They had 2 daughters, Wendy (Juan) Paz of Rapid City and Sherry (David) Rohde of Winner. They lived in Mosher, where they owned and operated the grain elevator, before moving in 1961, to Colome rural Colome, where they farmed and ranched. They sold the farm in 1973 and moved into Colome. After the passing of his wife in 1989, Milton moved to Rapid City, where he lived until his death. He had a passion for playing cards, fishing and baseball. He is survived by his daughters, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 sisters and a brother. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner with Rev. Fritz Zimbelman officiating. Burial will follow in the Colome Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City and Mason Funeral Home in Winner.
