Nancy Lynne Howe,57, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Rapid City Regional Hospital after a short illness. She was born on April 30th, 1957, at Carrington, North Dakota. She was welcomed by her parents, Calvin and Eileen (Johnson) Howe, and her two brothers, Carlton and Gary. She moved with her family to Rapid City, South Dakota, in November, 1958. She attended Rapid City schools, graduating from Stevens High School and South Dakota School of Mines with a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering. She enjoyed working in retail and spent many years at Safeway and later at Boyd's West Drug Store where she was store manager. She was a confirmed member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Nancy had a great concern for the treatment of animals. Her Siamese cat, Mitzy, was very special to her. Nancy loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed her gardening. She will be remembered for her party mix, caramel corn, and baked goods. She had a great knack for creating beautifully wrapped gifts. Nancy is survived by her mother, Eileen, brother, Carlton (Cotty) and wife, Patty, Anacortes Place, WA, niece, Teri, nephew, Dan, and his wife, Shelby, all of Seattle, WA, and many cousins from Minnesota, North Dakota, California, Wisconsin and North Carolina and Norway. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin, her brother, Gary, grandparents, Peter and Inga Johnson and Carl and Ella Howe, aunts and uncles, Lloyd and Margaret Johnson, Alice Johnson, Ruth and Eugene Baune, Myrtle and Art Due, Allegra and Vincent Tweten, cousins, Donald Johnson, Robert Tweten, Steven Baune, Shirley Walker, and Dan Polk. A Memorial service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rapid City at 11:00 am, on Monday, March 23, 2015 with the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mt View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Rapid City Human Society or Trinity Lutheran Church.
