RAPID CITY, SD – NANCY ANN VAN EE,  75, died Friday, August  11, 2017  at the Rapid City Regional  Auxiliary Hospice House.

She was born September 29, 1941 at Waterloo, Iowa to William and Betty [Trebon] Townsend. Growing to adulthood in Waterloo, she attended school at St Marys , St. Edwards and graduated from Waterloo West High School.

She worked as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital and then as a file clerk in the blue print department at the John Deere Corporation. This is where she met Thomas "Tom" F. Van Ee, and they were married on August 27, 1966 at St. Edwards Church in Waterloo. Nancy also worked in an accounting office, medical coder, and as an E.M.T. Her favorite position was a homemaker and a stay at home mom raising the three children.

Tom and Nancy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 27, 2016. Tom died June 22, 2017 in Rapid City.

Survivors include one daughter: Angela (Terry) Kearney of Hudson, WI; two sons: Jim (Michele) Van Ee of Waterloo, IA and John Van Ee of Bettendorf, IA; two grandsons: Sam and Matt; one brother Jim Townsend; and one sister Mary (Ron) Silverson of Florida.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Tom.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday, August 20 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service and Rosary at 6:00 pm.

Her Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 21 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery at Rock Island, Illinois with her husband Tom.
