Nellie Gullickson, 80, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at RCRH Hospice House in Rapid City. Nellie was born Feb. 29, 1928, near Highmore, to Anton and Grace DeGooyer. Nellie graduated from Northern State Teachers College and taught school in numerous communities in South Dakota. On July 14, 1951 she was united in marriage with Roy Gullickson. Together, they owned and operated Gullickson Plumbing and Heating in Groton from 1954 until they retired and moved to Rapid City in 1991. Roy passed away in 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Ka) Alberts of Rapid City and Brenda (Todd) Bethke of Sioux Falls; three grandchildren, Blake and Erin Alberts and Brandi Bethke; three brothers, Don DeGooyer, Pierre, Karl DeGooyer, Highmore, and Pat DeGooyer, Berthoud, CO; and one sister, Evertye Dittman, Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and two sisters. Private services will be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with interment at Black Hills National Cemetery.
