Oren M. Beloskur was born on January 22, 1944, in Greenbush, Michigan, to Walter and Betty (Barlow) Beloskur.  Oren passed away on May 5, 2021, at the age of 77 at his home in Rapid City, South Dakota, with his family by his side.

Oren made a choice to serve God at the age of 11.  It was an important choice to him and influenced everything in his life, and he said it was the best choice he ever made.

Oren loved the Scripture and had a deep sense of caring for his family.  He loved to visit and liked a good story and to joke around.  He never met anyone he didn't like.

Oren married Mary, his wife of 52 years, on December 27, 1968.  Oren and Mary have two children, Brandon and Melody.  Oren spent his youth in Michigan, and Oren and Mary spent the first 24 years of their life together there.  Oren earned a Bachelor's in Political Science and Master's in Education.  Oren taught in Detroit Public Schools for 25 years, at which time, in 1992, he retired and moved with his family to Spearfish, South Dakota. Oren then worked odd jobs for the next two decades.  Oren and Mary resided in Spearfish for 19 years, until 2012 when they moved to Rapid City.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, son, Brandon, and daughter, Melody, all of Rapid City.  He is survived by his nephew, Bryan Hamilton and niece, Becky Hamilton, both of Atlanta, Georgia.  He is also survived by many loving in-laws and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty; one sister Judy (Glenn) Hamilton; and one brother, Allen.  He was also preceded in death by many loving in-laws and friends.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.

Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
