RAPID CITY- Orpha Hellen Larson, 93, Rapid City, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. Orpha was born in Roseau County, Minnesota on Dec. 3, 1917. She married Harold Huck Larson on July 8, 1941. The couple resided at Minneapolis, MN where Huck was employed with Minneapolis Moline. They moved to Martin, SD in 1946 where they owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store until 1976. In 1986 they moved to Rapid City for medical reasons. She will long be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor. Grateful for having shared her life, are her children: Durwood (Kay) Larson, Texarkana, TX; Kent (Jan) Larson, Rapid City; and Nancy (David) Woodrow, Norman, OK; seven grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and a very dear friend, Joann Pauly, Martin, SD. Her children are especially appreciative for the excellent care she received during her last years which were spent at Fountain Springs Health Care in Rapid City. Orpha was preceded in death by her husband Huck in 1987, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, January 3 at the Lindsey Presbyterian Church in Martin, SD with Elder Ardeth Kocourek officiating. Interment will be in the Martin Community Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Martin Community Cemetery.
