Pamela Jean “Pam” Cowling, 66, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on September 22, 2026, in Rapid City.

Pam was born on June 24, 1960, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Orville Biel and Lorraine Biel (Ekstrom). A lifelong resident of the Rapid City area, Pam graduated from Rapid City Central High School.

Pam worked in accounting before retiring from the Rapid City Police Department. She spent 46 years in the Rapid City area and made her home there with her husband, Michael Cowling. She was a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines and enjoyed watching their sports teams. 

Pam is survived by her husband, Michael Cowling; her son, Adam Cowling; her sister, Tami Burnside of Box Elder, South Dakota; and her brother, Craig Panick of Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Biel; her mother, Lorraine Biel; and her sister, Patty Howard.

Pam will be remembered by those who knew and loved her, and her memory will remain with her family and friends.
