RAPID CITY-Patricia Anne Conat, 91 passed away on December 10, 2014, at Clarkson Health Care Facility. She was the daughter of William and Lillian (Cochran) Chichester. Pat, as she was known to most, was born February 22, 1923 and raised in Bemidji, MN. She graduated from Bemidji High School and then from Bemidji State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she moved with her family to Oklahoma City, OK, and later to Harlingen, TX, where she married her home-town sweetheart, Roy Conat, Jr., who was stationed at the Harlingen Army Air Corp Gunnery School. After the War years, they resided in the Flathead Valley of western Montana for the next 25 years. They raised their family there, and Pat taught some of those years in the rural community of Olney. They moved from Montana to Hinckley, MN, in 1969 and Pat taught in the Hinckley Elementary School for 18 years. Upon retirement, she and Roy moved to the Black Hills of SD to be near their two daughters whose husbands were stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base at the time. She is survived by two daughters, Carole (Craig) Brotsky and Candace Ingaldson (John Treick); two granddaughters, Rhonda (Rodney) Buchholz, and Bobbi (Jason) Colatruglio; two grandsons, Hans (Jen) Johnson and Spencer (Lissa) Ingaldson, and one great grandson, Gunnar Johnson. She is also survived by a grandniece, Kim Settel, as well as her faithful canine companion, Willie. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Roy, in 1995, her son Robert, in 1979, her sister Billie Jones in 2006, and her nephew Jeff Jones in 2013. Memorial Services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Glacier Memorial Cemetery in Whitefish, MT. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Black Hills Humane Society.
