Patsy Jane Nicholson, 86, of Rapid City, passed away at her home on Monday, January 24, 2022.

She was born on October 2, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa to James and Lois (Carpenter) Pringle. The family moved from Nebraska to Rapid City when Patsy was in the fifth grade and she graduated from Rapid City High School in 1953. Once a Cobbler, Always a Cobbler. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Married Peter J. Nicholson in Denver on March 2, 1974. They moved to Rapid City in 1978 where Patsy could be close to her parents and Peter said the Black Hills reminded him of his home in Wales. They joined Emmanuel Episcopal Church where Patsy became a lector.

After Peter retired the second time, he and Patsy became RV'ers, enjoying touring the Oregon Trail and wintering in Casa Grande, AZ.

Patsy is survived by her daughters; Nicole (Jeff) Downs – Colorado Springs, CO, Heather (Richard) Eckels – Golden, CO, Mindy Elliot – Rapid City,  Sharla (Ken) Riead – Kansas City, Missouri, Holly (Arlan) Kluth, Littleton, CO and  her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter in 2013, her grandson, Chase Kluth, her parents and brother, Jerome Pringle.

A Celebration of Life Eucharist will be offered at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Inurnment of her ashes will be in the Emmanuel Memorial Garden.
