Patricia (Pat) Lou (Tobias) Basham 89, of Rapid City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, at the Monument Health Hospice House. She was born January 30, 1933, in Covington, OH, to Wilbur and Dorothy Tobias.

Pat grew up on the family farm near Covington, OH, with her brothers, John and Bob, and her older sister Norma. She met and married James Basham on June 7, 1952. James was in the US Air Force, and they lived in several places before retiring in Rapid City, SD. They lived in England for 2 years and Larson Air Force Base in Washington State where the twins Russell and Richard were born. Jeff, her youngest son, was born at Ellsworth AFB. Pat worked for the Pennington Co. Treasurer's Office for many years.

Pat loved watching sports on TV. You could ask her anything about football, tennis, golf or almost any sport, and she could tell you which team won and the scores! Pat also loved the holidays! She loved buying gifts for others and supporting charities to help those in need. Pat's menu for each holiday was long including her favorite, traditional, homemade dishes. Being from Ohio, Pat had a huge cardinal collection displayed throughout her home. Pat was a wonderful grandmother and enjoyed every minute possible with her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her children; Russell (Patti) Basham, Richard (Shelley) Basham, Jeffry (Pegge) Basham, her brother; Robert (Jani) Tobias; her grandchildren; James (Rachel) Basham and their 2 children Emma and Connor Keith, Morgan, Ben, and Haley Basham, Kristofer (Leanna), Marysa, and Alayna Basham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Basham, her parents, her brother, John Tobias, and sister, Norma Tobias.

A memorial service for Pat will be at 2:00pm, July 2, at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home, Rapid City, SD.
