Patrick Torres, 62, of Rapid City, died Friday May 21, 2010 at his home in Rapid City. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He spent his entire working carrer in the Kansas City and Rapid City, SD area and the last 9 years as a respiratory therapist at the Ft. Meade, SD V A Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Adam Torres, Chicago, Illinois and Paul Torrres, Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers Maurice Torres, Leawood, Kansas and Chuck Torres, Olpe, Kansas; five sisters, Genevieve Snow, Palm Desert, California, Barbara Gardener, Charlotte, North Carolina, Bernadette Ihde, Emporia, Kansas, Mary Frances Jaso, Newton, Kansas and Cyndee Maine, Wichita, Kansas and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. A Christian Wake Service will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 28, 2010 with a visitation to follow at St. Catherines Catholic Church at 205 South Lawrence Street in Emporia. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 102 Exchange Street in Emporia with Rev. Richard Warsnak presiding. Inurnment with military honors will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Emporia. A memorial has been established.
