Paul E. Carroll, 85, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on August 16, 1931 to Milton and Rhoda (Gill) Carroll in Huntington, West Virginia. He grew up in Huntington, joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

Paul retired from the Army in 1975.

He married Lydia Hoyer in Colorado on August 3, 1974 and they moved to Rapid City in 1979.

Paul is survived by his wife, Lydia, sons; Paul (Judy), Michael (Rebecca), Richard (Lori), Paul, Michael, Dennis and Terry, daughters; Barbara, Gloria and Diane and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren sisters; Ramona and Gladys.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry, his parents and 5 brothers.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:00am at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Pastor Art Sartorious officiating.

Inurnment of his ashes will be at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors.
