Paul A. Davidson, 71, passed away September 5, 2021, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1950, in Rapid City, SD, the middle child of Frank and Edna (Henry) Davidson.  He grew up in Keystone, SD, and attended school in Hill City.  After graduating from Hill City High School, he married Kay Christenson and they were blessed with two children, Amy and Aric, but later divorced.  Paul later met his soulmate, Kay Mower, and they were married on August 23, 1986.

Paul started logging with his dad and brother out of high school.  He learned the craft but decided that big equipment held more interest for him.  He worked for several contractors over the years and dug many basements and built many roads.  Even in his retirement, Paul was cajoled to build a road or level an area.  He was very skilled and could make the skidder or Caterpillar do his bidding.

Survivors include the love of his life, Kay, his brother, Michael, his daughter, Amy (Paul) Wallin and his son, Aric (Heather) Davidson.  He was the very proud grandfather to Kylie (Bailey) Wetherell and their son Noah, Emily Wallin, Ally Wallin, Olivia (Lucas) Schmidt and Aric A. Davidson, II.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who felt the power of his love and gentle leadership.  We all have a very special Guardian Angel watching over us now and thanks to his generosity and the help of the Lions Club, his eyes will allow another person the gift of sight.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cathy Seaver.

The service with be on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, 532 Adams Street, Rapid City, SD with Father Kerry Prendiville officiating.  There will be a light lunch served in the basement of the Church following the service.  Interment will be at a later date.
