Pearl O. Holderness, 91, entered the Spirit World on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs.
Pearl Olive Larvie was born August 4, 1924 near Batesland, in Bennett County, South Dakota to Samuel and Ollie [Cottier] Larvie. She grew to the adultdhood in the area and attended school. She married Harold Kenneth Holderness and raised 9 children. She enjoyed the outdoors, canning, puzzle books, spending time with family, and reading western books.
She is survived by her three sons: Ed [Suzie] Holderness, David [Sheila] Holderness, and Mike [Jeannie] Holderness all of Batesland, SD; six daughters: Deb [Arlyn ] Gentry of Norfolk, NE, Ollie [Kevin] Schwaderer of Norfolk, NE, Gail [Rick] Taylor of Friona, TX, Kandy [Fred] Holderness of Rapid City, DeEtte [George] Snyder of Friona, TX, and Ramoma [Dixon] Holderness McGrew of York, NE; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Ernie Larvie, Joe Larvie, Edison Larvie, and Samuel Larvie, Jr., one sister Irene Larvie Mary Hall and one great-granddaughter Willow Pearl McGrew.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church at Pine Ridge with Rev. Rhoda Mesteth officiating.
Inurnment will be held at the Gamble Cemetery near Swett, SD.
