Obituary

Peggy Ann Dalton, 75, passed away at Tambree Meadows Memory Care Center, Idaho Falls, ID on May 25, 2019.  She was born on April 1, 1944 in Akron, OH to Foster and Freda (Cotton) Ireton.

She moved with her family to Texas, where she met William (Hugh) Dalton.  They were married in 1960 and enjoyed a life of love and laughter until his death in 2009.

In their early years of marriage, Peggy helped Hugh run a gas station and also delivered newspapers, sold Avon, and modeled Beeline clothes. Peggy served as a surrogate mother to several nieces and nephews before having a child of her own.  After becoming a mother, Peggy became a homemaker doting on and taking care of her family.  She was considered a rock to many of her family members.  Her love and dedication to her family will never be forgotten.

Peggy loved spending time on the Nueces River, she enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends.  Peggy had a great sense of humor and was strong, smart and sassy and had a mind of her own.  She was one of a kind and completely beautiful and unique.

Peggy lived most of her life in Texas and stayed there until health problems forced her to move closer to her daughter.  For the last nine months of her life, she made her home at Tambree Meadows where she was loved and enjoyed by all of the staff.

She is survived by her daughter Jean Ann (Bart) Zwetzig of Idaho.  Her sister Jessa North of Missouri, her twin sister Patty (Delmar) Salge of Texas, and her brother Robert (Carolyn) Ireton of Arkansas; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Dalton, her parents, her brothers Moreland Fickes, Harold Ireton and Charles Ireton, sisters Darlene McCombs, Mildred Rickman and Elsie Ireton.
