HOT SPRINGS- Philip Babel, 100, longtime resident of Rapid City died Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home. Phil was born July 29, 1915 to Joseph and Pauline Babel. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in November 1945. He is survived by his sister Billy Dvorak, Boise, ID; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends Tom and Shirley Anderson, Rapid City. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
