Yankton - Phillip Duane Amiotte, 86, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Avera Sister James Care Center at Yankton, SD.

He was born Tuesday, April 25, 1933 at Rosebud, SD to Philip and Thelma (Haukass) Amiotte. He graduated from high school and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He entered the United Stated Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1955. He was married on April 9, 1976 to Yvonne Whiting. She died February 12, 2018. They lived in Mission, SD and Phillip retired from Todd County Schools. He then became a resident at ASJCC.

His special interests were science, mystery, and fishing. He was kind and patient.

Survivors include three daughters: Cindy Amiotte, Annette Amiotte, and Jean Tullous.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am Tuesday August 13, 2019 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with funeral services at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
