Phyllis A. Britton (nee Williams), 94, of Rapid City, SD died November 22, 2020 of COVID-19.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Creighton.  She is survived by her daughters, Kerry Britton of Rapid City, SD and Noelle (Michael) Berzanski of Chicago, IL; granddaughters Morgan (Dan) Fabry, Jasmine (Mitchel) Taylor, and Evonne; and, numerous nieces whom she dearly loved.

Retiring after 20 years as a magazine editor, Phyllis was full of adventure and an avid traveler.  She was born a rancher's daughter (late Fred and Connetha Williams) in Faith, SD, but she was a city girl at heart.  Phyllis lived the lion-share of her adult life in Chicago and enjoyed all the city had to offer.  She loved her church, her God, and her family.  Phyllis was active in the church her entire life, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, serving on committees, and playing the organ and piano for services.  Her extraordinary legacy will live on in her daughters and granddaughters.

The family sends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Clarkson Healthcare Center for their great care of Phyllis in her final 6 years.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 with funeral service at 10:00am on Monday, November 30, 2020 at South Canyon Lutheran Church.  A private interment will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery immediately following.  As a reminder, please wear face masks and socially distance in compliance with CDC guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic.
