Obituary

GREELEY, Colo. - Phyllis Erikson, 80, Greeley, Colo. resident and former longtime Rapid City resident, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at a Greeley nursing home. She was born on Feb. 27, 1928, in Rapid City to John and Emma (Urbach) Brehm. She grew up new New Underwood and lived most of her life in Rapid City. Phyllis married Victor Erikson on Jan. 14, 1950, in Sioux Falls. She was involved in Eastern Star and Job's Daughters when her daughters were in high school. She was an active member of the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens' Center where she enjoyed playing bingo, card games and organizing the football raffle. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Bottenberg and her husband Gene, Eaton, Colo., Doris Fuhrer and her husband Marlin, Des Moines, Iowa, and Lois L'Esperance and her husband Gary, Jupiter, Fla.; a nephew, Bob Bielmaier and his wife Janice, Rapid City; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor and six siblings. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until departure for the cemetery on Monday, Aug. 18, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. A memorial has been established for the Canyon Lake Senior Citizen's Center.
