RAPID CITY- Ralph Henry Rauert, 96, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Clarkson Healthcare.
Ralph was born August 1, 1927 in Grand Island, NE, the son of Charles and Elsie (Seim) Rauert. He went to school and graduated high school from Grand Island. He joined the US Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Grand Island Business College for two years. Ralph married Wava Rauert July 10, 1949 and they had two sons Tim and Craig.
Ralph was employed by International Harvester Company Finance Division traveling the midwestern states. He retired after 23 years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling in the motorhome, playing golf, fishing and hunting.
Ralph and Wava were faithful members of South Canyon Lutheran Church. He spent countless hours volunteering. Whether it was on the SCLC Board, ushering, counting money after the collection on Sundays, you could always count on Ralph.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wava; parents; two brothers: Art Rauert and Elmer Rauert; four sisters: Irma Bosselman, Alvira Baasch, Lucille Thesenvitz and Edna Boltz.
Ralph is now with the Lord and with his wife, Wava of more than 70 years.
Survivors include two sons: Tim (Barb) Rauert and Craig (Linda) Rauert, all of Rapid City; grandchildren: Ashley (Andy) Rauert Trammell, Jennifer (Ken) Potvin, Kelli Rauert, Michael Rauert; four great grandchildren: Jayde, Christian, Luna and Parker.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at South Canyon Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial with full military honors rendered by the VFW Post 1273 and the Navy Honor Guard will be at 9:30 am.
A memorial has been established to South Canyon Lutheran Church Youth Fund.
