Randy Brink, 75, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026. Born on May 12, 1951, Randy lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work, adventure, generosity, and an unmistakably independent spirit.

Randy graduated from Rapid City High School in 1969. After graduation, he immediately began working for his father and the family company. He worked his way up to foreman before, in 1978, branching out with his brothers to build a second successful company in Colorado. Fifteen years later, they returned to the parent company, where Randy continued to grow professionally, eventually becoming vice president before retiring in 2007.

Randy was remarkably self-taught and innovative, qualities that served him well in a highly technical industry. His ability to learn, adapt, and find creative solutions was a testament to his determination and intelligence. He took great pride in his work and in everything he accomplished alongside his family.

Randy had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, hunting, and waterskiing. His and Monica’s cabin at Pactola Lake held a special place in his heart—a treasured retreat, where he especially enjoyed being out on his boat.

Randy met Monica Bower-Brink at their high school reunion, and from that meeting began a life together filled with travel, adventures, and shared experiences. For 26 years, Randy and Monica enjoyed many activities together and built a life rich with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Their love and companionship were an important part of Randy’s life and brought him tremendous happiness.

Generosity was another defining part of Randy’s legacy. He continued his family’s tradition of supporting others by generously giving to numerous charities and causes, including the Children’s Home. He believed in helping his community and, often without fanfare, made a meaningful difference in the lives of many through his generosity.

Randy will be remembered for his rebellious spirit, kindness, generosity, and straightforward, to-the-point way of communicating. He knew his own mind, lived life on his own terms, and never hesitated to be himself. Beneath his independent nature was a man who cared deeply for the people around him.

Above all, Randy loved his family. He loved each of his grandchildren deeply, and that love was returned to him in abundance. The special bond he shared with them brought him tremendous happiness and will remain one of the most treasured parts of their memories of him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Monica Bower-Brink, daughters Heidi (Adam) Malbrough, Jenna Brink, and son Ryan Brink (Ashley Byrd); step-daughters Niki (Aaron) Studer, Brandi (Shane) Tipton, Tyna (Jesse) Jurrens and grandchildren Jade, Rachel, Tyrus, Izabelle, Haiden, Asa, Quincy, Garet, Jackson, Dylan T., Dylan B., Cole, Morgan, Gresen, Hudson, and Haizley, brothers Doug (Ginger) Brink, Lyle (Cathie Brink) and sister Kay (Rod) Everson. He will be profoundly missed by his family, and his friends who were important to him.

Randy’s presence, strength, humor, independence, and generosity will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His adventurous spirit, unwavering love for his family, and commitment to helping others will remain part of his lasting legacy. The many lives he touched—and the memories he created along the way—will keep his spirit close for years to come.
