RAPID CITY- Ray J. Kraemer, age 98, of Rapid City, S.D., died October 14, 2017.

He was born April 23, 1919 in Freeman, SD to Andrew & Matilda (Neu) Kraemer.  Ray grew up near Rockham and Orient, SD graduating from Orient High School in 1938.  Ray joined the U.S. Army and served from 1942 to 1945, spending time in combat in Europe for 16 months.  After the war, Ray married Mildred E. Fetterroll in NYC in 1946.  The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2015.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, three children, Boyd (LuAnn) Kraemer, Arizona; Wrenae (Frank) Shabel, Tennessee; and Bruce (Susan) Kraemer, SD; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and sister, Trudy Price, Tx.

Visitation will be on October 19 from 5 -7 pm, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home

Funeral service will be on October 20 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October
20, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Josh Jones officiating.

Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
