CUSTER - Regina V. Ahearne, 85, Custer, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at the Custer Regional Senior Care facility. Regina ("Jeannie") was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. After high school, Regina worked for Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. She married, raised 2 children as a "single Mom", and worked as a doctor's assistant (private practice). Regina loved basketball, music, dancing, films, the streets of New York City and the Black Hills of South Dakota. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Wila Kent, of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Joseph Sciarrotta, of Cottonwood , Arizona; grandson, Justin Sciarrotta, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; niece (and her husband), Kristine and Bruno Pagano, and their daughter, Megan, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Regina is also survived by her first husband, James E. Kent, of Ocala, Florida, and her second husband, Joseph F. Ahearne, of Brooklyn, N.Y, Arrangements are being handled by Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home of Rapid City. Following her request, Regina will be cremated. No services are planned.
