Spc. Richard "Brennan" Berdell Cox, 22, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Brennan was born on April 19, 1995 to Richard and Stephanie (Barbour) Cox in Hot Springs, SD.
He attended school in Hot Springs and graduated from Central High School in Rapid City in May, 2013. Brennan joined the Army and left for basic training in July of 2013.
Brennan served as an indirect infantryman with Troop A, 1st Squadron, 4th Calvary Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. He was stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas and made two deployments; Kuwait in 2014 and South Korea in 2016.
He married Tatiana Beltran on June 2, 2016 and to this union, they adopted a "fur baby" Dosha.
Those who had the great privilege of sharing in his life and survive him are his parents, Stephanie and Danny Bergman, his brother, Brandon, his sister Brittanie, his wife Tatiana, and Grandma Wanda Barbour, his aunts; Brook Parmley and Lani Barbour and his uncle Jason Barbour, cousins; Trevor, Buddy, Landon, Cayden and Baleigh.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Richard Cox, Grandpa Richard Barbour, Great Grandma Tillie Barbour, Great Grandparents Berdell and Lee Fleming and Grandparents Bud and Sue Cox.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 23 from 5:00 until 7:00pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 24 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established to the Humane Society of the Black Hills..
