RAPID CITY- Richard D. Everett, 62, Rapid City, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Richard was born and raised in the Portland/Gresham area and spent all but the last three years of his life living in the area. He dearly loved the Pacific Northwest. Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed photography, backpacking, fishing, camping, and roller skating. He was an active bicyclist. One of his major accomplishments was riding his bicycle cross country through 15 states beginning at Virginia and ending in Oregon. He also loved computers. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Everett, Rapid City; mother in law, Pearl Simonson, Bowman, ND; brother in law and sister in law, Russell and Carol Long, Tallahassee, FL; sister in law, Lucille Humphries, Yuma, AZ; sister in law, Linda Plett, Pierre, SD; four nephews and two great nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimers Association.
