Obituary

Richard R. Foreman, 70, of Houston, Tx, died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston after a lengthy bout with medical issues.

He was born in Deadwood, SD to Robert J. and Yvonne C. (Martin) Foreman on December 3, 1947.

Rick had a goal at a very young age to become a certified public accountant and travel the world. He accomplished his goal by first graduating from Deadwood High School in 1965 and went on to get a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of South Dakota in 1969 and much hard work through the years. Rick was always known to say; "Make Your Move And Don't Look Back". In high school he was talked into playing the tuba, which he grew to love it and all types of band music; big band and jazz. He played in the Deadwood City Band for years. When the city no longer would fund the city band, he and another friend funded the band and changed the name to the Northern Hills Community Band. To some of the older band members, it was known as THE BAND. He traveled back to Deadwood from Texas, New Orleans or where ever he was, when it was the Days of 76 time of the year, just to play a couple of concerts and walk 3 miles in the parade until he was no longer physically able to. But would still come back and play a couple of the concerts. He always had a love for fishing and water. After he became a CPA, he developed a love for deep sea fishing and diving. He spent many hours enjoying both.   He also enjoyed hunting.

In 1979, Rick Co-founded Cal Dive Inc., in 1997, he founded Odyssea Marine Inc.   Rick served as President, COO, and CFO of Offshore Pipelines Inc., and CFO for J Ray McDermott. He was also Advisory Services for J. Ray Mc Dermott, Con-Dive LLC and Helix Energy Solutions. Rick conducted Business in over 27 foreign countries.

At the time of his death he was a Special Advisor for Ranger Offshore Inc.

He is survived by his mother, Yvonne C. Foreman, Deadwood, his sister, Kristine Foreman, Deadwood, a special family friend, Kern Otteson and a multitude of friends.
