Richard (Rick) Joseph Dunne

Rick Dunne, 70, passed away at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD on January 12, 2025.

Rick was born September 29, 1954, in Britton, South Dakota to Richard (Dick) and Shirley (Eikanas) Dunne in Britton, South Dakota. Rick worked in sales and then bookkeeping, having earned an accounting degree.

Rick married Anne Denton on February 29, 2004. They made their home in Rapid City. Rick learned to love the outdoors from his father and was involved in several outdoor activities throughout his life. Rick also enjoyed many styles of music and in his younger life was involved in choirs, quartets, and singing solos at weddings. He was a member of Cathedral Parish in Rapid City.

Survivors include his wife Anne, his sister Sheri Vitullo of Woodbury, MN, his brother Michael (Lorie) Dunne of Britton, South Dakota, his brother-in-law Chad Goehring in Webster, South Dakota, five nieces and nephews, Candace, Joseph, Christopher, Sarah and Alyssa, and their spouses and children, his aunts, Arla Rasmussen, Marilyn Jondahl and Marcia Lamarche, his stepmother Sherri Dunne and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Colleen Goehring and his brother-in-law Jeff Vitullo.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City. The Vigil Service and Rosary will begin at 6:30pm.

The Funeral Mass will be at the Cathedral on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 2:00pm with the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 1:45pm. A reception will follow in St. Joseph Hall.

The burial will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Britton Cemetery, Britton, South Dakota. A reception following at St. John De Britto Parish.
