SERVICE TIMES HAVE CHANGED BECAUSE OF WEATHER
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. April 12, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with military honors rendered by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Richard Dean Neubert, Sr., 84, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
Richard was born on August 29, 1934 on a farm in Rock County, MN, to Henry and Gurena (Edmunson) Neubert. He graduated from Washington High in 1953.
Richard joined the 175 th Fighter Interceptor Squadron of the National Guard in Sioux Falls, SD on Dec. 12, 1952 and requested active duty in the regular Air Force on Feb. 28, 1953. While stationed in London, England, he met the love of his life, Rose Margaret Hadley, and they married on March 9, 1957. They were transferred to Lincoln (NE) Air Force Base and he received an honorable discharge on Feb. 28, 1961, when they moved to Rapid City.
His first job was with Barber Transportation and then with AMF, a company that was working on the Titan missiles. He then worked for a carpet store, Safeway and finally begin his civil service career in the commissary at Ellsworth Air Force Base until his retirement in 1995.
Dick and his family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher, which he greatly enjoyed! He was a member of the American Legion and served on committees for NAARFE
Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Dean, Jr. (Sherrie) Neubert, Hill City, SD and John W. (Toni) Neubert, Santee, CA; 3 daughters, Lynne P. (Brian) Neubert-Coomes, Miami, FL, Lisa C. Neubert, St. George, KS, and Amy Rose (Brad) James, Clearwater, MN; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rose on June 10, 2014; 3 brothers, Donald, Eugene, and Roger, and a son in law, Doug Murphy.
