PIEDMONT- Richard Vincent "Rick" McGrath, 58, passed away on Sunday, November 5, at his home.

Rick was born in Wabasha, MN, on February 1, 1959. He was raised in Plainview, MN and graduated from Plainview High School in 1977. His boyhood was filled with a love of the outdoors, with endless hours spent fishing, trapping, hunting, and raising pheasants.

Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and spent the next 26 ½ years in the loyal service of his country. During that time, he was stationed for 10 years in Korea, where he met and fell in love with his wife, Okhee. They were married in Korea on January 11, 1984. Rick retired from the Air Force in 2004 with the rank of First Sergeant.

Rick was a faithful servant to his country, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Searles.

Rick is survived by his wife, Okhee, Piedmont; father, Gerald Searles, Plainview, MN; sister, Cathy (Joe) Irwin, Mooresville, NC; brother, Jack (Kris) Harlan, Buffalo, MN; and sister, Deb (Dan) Ohm, Plainveiw, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, at the funeral home with Chaplain (Ret.) Herb B. Cleveland officiating. Military honors rendered by the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard and the K-9 unit.
