Richard 'Dick' Sichterman, 80, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2024 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Dick was born December 26, 1943 to Richard and Anna Sichterman in Rapid City. Dick attended Rapid City High School until his enlistment in the US Navy in 1961. Dick served on the USS Little Rock until he was honorably discharged in 1965. During his time in the military Dick had his son, Randy.

After his discharge, Dick worked in various positions including Control Data, Philips 66, and Timberline Equipment.

Dick married Loa Burke on December 16, 1994. Dick and Loa were involved in crafting in their early years of marriage traveling to many states selling their beautiful hand-crafted furniture and custom decorative items. Dick joined All Metal Manufacturing in 2003 involving himself in delivery of structural steel to job sites, mechanical repairs and powder coating. Dick gave 20 years of commitment to the company until his cancer progressed.

Grateful for sharing his life are his son, Randy (Carrie) Sichterman, Raleigh, NC; son, Kelly; step children: Tim (Gretchen) Burke, Rapid City; Tammy (Dan) Kveene, West Van Lear, KY; Todd Burke, Spearfish; Tori (Kevin) Eickelman, Rapid City; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dick is also survived by his brother Donald (Marilee) Sichterman, Centennial, CO; sister, Aleta Olson, Rapid City.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anne Sichterman; wife, Loa Sichterman; sister, Sharon Eddy; sister-in-law Julie Sichterman and brother-in-law, Dave Olson.

Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, at the Journey Church (1981 Centre St.) in Rapid City.

Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the US Navy Honor Guard.

The family would like to thank the providers, nurses, care staff and the Oncology team and Dr's at the Ft. Meade VA Medical Center for their exceptional and compassionate care they gave Dick during his hospice stay.
