Rapid City - Rita Mary ( Klementis )  Campbell was born April 4 ^th , 1948 in Kingston NY to William Klementis and Dorothy (Deedrot). She passed into the arms of our Lord Jesus on July 2 ^nd ,2022.

She is survived by her husband, Allen, "Pete" Campbell, 2 sisters and a brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Rita spent her youth and early adulthood in Kingston NY.  She worked as a candy striper, (nurse's aide) at the local hospital until she obtained her nursing degree as an LPN.  In 1971 Pete's mother was visiting her sister in NY.  Rita was a close friend of Pete's aunt and was asked to drive Pete's mother back to SD.  Little did she know that it was going to be a one-way trip. After meeting Pete, it as a done deal.  Love took a front seat to the rest of their story and they were married in 1972.  They were more than partners, more than companions and best friends.  She was and will forever be his beautiful princess. Rita worked at the hospital and a nursing home during their years in Pierre. They moved to Rapid City in 1985.  Rita worked at Bella Vista nursing home until the early 2000's when she was pushed into early retirement due to illness.  Despite the physical challenges she endured, Rita would continue to enjoy the second love of her life, riding motorcycles with Pete. She kept herself entertained with their puppies, jewelry making and various other hobbies.

To say that Rita was a, "force" that could will steel to bend with her tenacious determination would not begin to capture her energy and love for life.

Though her challenges were numerous, like cheating cancer 5 times, she did not miss out on living while she was here.

Pete would like to thank all of Rita's caregivers, family and friends that have offered prayer in her name and humbly ask for continued mercy for her dear precious Pete and family.

Her Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 10:00 am Monday, July 18, 2022 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
