Robert was born on December 20th 1930 in Breen North Dakota. He graduated from Newell High School in 1949 and entered the Navy in 1954. He met Madeline Hines and they were married in 1954 at Hisega South Dakota. They lived in Rapid City South Dakota and later moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin, Dallas Texas, Gillette Wyoming and came back to retire in Nemo South Dakota. He had five children, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He worked as a painter for most of his life and also loved wood working. He was preceded in death by several siblings and his wife. His is survived by one sister, Alice Shaykett (Bud) Whitewood, and five children, Lisa Balistreri (Tony) Nemo, Laura Blevins Rapid City, Tim Dennis (Brenda) Gillette, Karen Hickson (Laddie), Nancy Earls (Jimmy) Frisco. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, at Nemo Community Church in Nemo with Rev. Nick Rombough officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Nemo Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial in the Nemo Community Hall.
