Bob was born January 4, 1947 in Pueblo, CO, the oldest child of Robert and Margaret (Emory) Parker. As an infant, he was crowned the King of Pueblo.
He enlisted in the US Navy at 17 after receiving his diploma from Kemper Military Academy and College, so he could join the war effort in Vietnam. He served his beloved country from 1964-1967. He was very brave and proud of his service and his country.
He met and married Lane Gorsuch in Rapid City, SD and they started a family and life together. He sold vacuum cleaners door to door, broke every sales record selling life insurance on the road for many years, which resulted in several promotions, cross country moves and him becoming a motivational sales trainer. He sold cars for a while and fiberglass containers to oil companies in Texas for a time. He later wrote a book of one-liners called "Postcards from the Deep" in which he discussed his life lessons and his battles with depression resulting from his service in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his sister Kathleen Parker Ballinger of Knoxville, TN; his son Tony Parker of Fairburn, SD; his daughter Wendy Parker Lockyear of Fairburn, SD; his daughter Misty Parker Croyle of Rapid City, SD; his former wife, best friend and love of his life, Lane Madison of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
