Rapid City--Robert Leelan Jones, 87, died at Golden LivingCenter-Black Hills on Monday, March 25, 2013. Robert was born on March 28, 1925, in Rapid City to Leelan T. and Ilda Faye (Cole) Jones. He grew up in Rapid City and in Long Pine in western Nebraska. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Bob was a life member of the Rapid City Elks Lodge #1187. Survivors include his sister, Velesta Coleman, Surprise, AZ; a son in law, Gary Woods, Boise, ID; 3 nephews, Jim (Chris) Coleman, Rapid City, Tom Coleman, Dallas, TX and Jeff Coleman, Rochester, MN; a niece, Nancy Barton, Tulson, OK and 3 grandchildren, Robert L. Jones, Jr., Michael Jones and Rachael Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Jane in 2003 and his son, Robert L. Jones, Sr. in 1996. Private burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
