Robert Bob Lotz, 52, Rapid City, died Monday January 12, 2009 at a local nursing home. He was born January 18, 1956 in Rapid City to Verne and Donna (Jaehn) Lotz. He graduated from Rapid City Stevens High School in 1974 and continued His education at Montana State University and South Dakota State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. Bob joined the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Rapid City and enjoyed a 26 year career before retiring in 2005. He enjoyed a number of activities including gardening, golf, and travel. Hawaii remained a favorite destination. Hiking and exploration was an integral part of each trip. It was on these walks with nature where he was most at peace. There was always something new to discover and experience with each step taken. Bob had a quick wit...a dry sense of humor and a spirit enjoyed by all. He was an encourager, a good listener and will be missed in many ways. Remember the good times with a smile and not a tear. Bob is survived by his parents Verne and Donna of Rapid City and a sister Becky Ingraham and husband Steve of Denver, Colorado. According to Bob's wishes, there will be no formal funeral. There will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn in Rapid City. Everyone is invited to attend and take part in the celebration.
