Robert "Bob" William Love, 91, passed away in Rapid City on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, after a long and full life.

Bob was born December 24, 1929, in Miller, SD to Clifford and Vera (Scott) Love. Bob moved with his family to Custer, SD, where he graduated high school in 1949. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Zubrod on October 9, 1954, in Rapid City and to this union 3 children were born, Mike, Jim, and Deb.

Bob was a loving husband, father and friend who devoted his life to family and always participated in their many activities. He supported them in whatever adventures that came along, including, horses, boating, camping, water skiing, snowmobiling, and especially fishing, which brought him the biggest grin, when he reeled in the biggest fish of everyone.

He was the most thankful for having gotten to spend 62 wonderful years with the love of his life, his beautiful and devoted wife, Mary Ann.

Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and definitely had a gift of gab, no matter what the subject or who he was talking with, be it family or a person he had just met (Bob never met a stranger, only new friends)

After graduation, Bob joined the Army, and served his country, in the Korean War, and then enlisted in the South Dakota National Guards, from which he retired after 20 years of service, all while working for the State of South Dakota, as a Survey Engineer and finally hanging up his working hat and retiring in 1990, after 35 years of service. At which point he was able to spend all his time doing what he enjoyed the most, FAMILY TIME !!

Bob is survived by his children; Mike (Nancy) Love of Rapid City, SD, Jim (Judy) Love of Rapid City, SD, and Deb (Brian) Voss of Custer, SD, brother; Jimmy (Ulla) Love of Omaha, NE, 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann in 2016, his parents, Clifford and Vera.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 30, 2021 , at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, with visitation an hour prior to the service at 9 am .

Interment will follow at 12:00 pm at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors.
